Diameter Tape Calibration

Diameter Tape Calibration Services

At Cross Precision Measurement, we ensure your diameter tapes are properly calibrated to meet necessary calibration standards.

Precision diameter tapes (also known as Pi tapes) are frequently used in quality labs when a technician needs to find the diameter of an object based on the circumference. Using the formula for Pi (or 3.14…), the graduations on these tapes act as a vernier scale enabling the user to find the diameter based on the circumference.

The precision measurement group at Cross offers NIST traceable diameter tape calibration in our dimensional laboratories. Similar to steel rules and other types of tape measures, master gage block standards are used which allow us to provide NIST traceable certifications. Our laboratories are capable of measuring pi tapes up to 144″ based on the available standards and conditions.

Calibration and Diameter Tape Accuracy

Calibrated diameter tape is an important component of many operations that rely on precise and accurate measurements. So it’s important to partner with a company who knows what they’re doing when it comes to diameter tap calibration. Cross is one of those companies.

We’ve worked with an enormous number of industrial and manufacturing companies over the years. And through those partnerships, we’ve been able to provide accurate and reliable calibration, outstanding customer service, and repeatable results. When you work with Cross for pi tape calibration services, you can trust that you’re getting expert, NIST traceable, and repeatable service.

Whether you have an upcoming calibration audit, quality control inspection, or just need scheduled calibration services, Cross Precision Measurement group can help.

Reliable Calibration Services

The precision measurement group at Cross offers NIST traceable calibration for all types of mechanical and electrical measurement devices, from calipers to inclinometers. Our technicians utilize master standards such as surface plates, angle blocks, and sine bars, among others, to perform a comprehensive calibration including readings at a minimum of four test points.

In addition, our team can provide as found, as left readings on a certificate of calibration which your quality team can access 24/7 using GageSuite®, our online calibration certificate tracking system.

When it comes to calibration services for manufacturers and others within the industrial world, the two most important considerations are accuracy and consistency. At Cross Precision Measurement, we strive to provide the highest degree of accuracy in calibrations every single time. That way, you can trust that your instrumentation or equipment has been precisely calibrated time and time again.

Your Pi Tape Calibration Company

A pi tape measures diameter through being properly calibrated. Done properly, each mark is 3.142 inches long (or equivalent to pi). This allows you to automatically convert the circumference into a diameter. The ability to quickly perform these measurements and calibrations is hugely beneficial. However, it also means it’s critical that the tape itself be precise.

Many diameter tapes also have a vernier, which allows the user to measure diameters down to very precise degrees. This is another feature that has proven invaluable to many who utilize pi tapes.

Finding a company that can calibrate pi tapes may seem challenging at first. But after you work with Cross, we know you won’t be disappointed in our expert calibration services.
