A Hard Gauge is an extremely accurate machined measurement gage. Starting from Gage Blocks, a Hard Gauge is the primary standard of dimensional metrology. Extremely accurate and used to perform verification on hand tools and measurement equipment, a Hard Gage takes many names and forms, including a Gauge Block, Threaded and Smooth Plug Gauge, Ring Gage, Pin Gage, Angle Block, V Block, R Smooth, Bore Gauge, Thread Gauge, Check Rod, Micrometer Checker and Step Standard.
