UNPACKING

When shipping box is unpacked, you should have (1) Model SASD-721 Mega Manual Sample Cutter and (1) set of Operating Instructions.

PURPOSE

The Model SASD-721 Mega Sample Cutter can be used for swatch cutting or used to cut multiples of 1, 2, 4, or 8 fabric samples depending on fabric thickness. Samples are then weighed on a King Yield Scale to determine yield in ounces per square yard or grams per square meter. We recommend using the King System of 8 samples, to account for weight variances from selvage to center of fabric, and to provide a dependable yield test every time.

OPERATION

Cut a 4" wide strip (depending upon die size) of fabric across the full width of the fabric. Depending on thickness of fabric, you may fold once, twice, or three times to get 2, 4, or 8 samples after cutting. You will need 8 samples for the standard King System Yield Test.

Place material under the die, Use the crack handle on the left side to lower the blade, until it comes in contact with the material to be cut. Then, pull large handle (on right) down until the cut is complete.

Next, allow the large handle to travel back up and use the crack handle to raise the blade. Remove the samples from the cuuting surface.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

NEVER attach a leverage bar to the handle or hit the handle with a mallet.

Apply a light coat of grease as needed to all moving parts.
