Raise the cutter handle to its vertical position. Place a cutting pad on the cutter base directly under the blade. Place your folded fabric on the cutting pad being careful not to stretch or distort the fabric. Be careful not to touch the blade. It is very sharp.

To cut sample(s), push handle down to horizontal position. Place one hand on cutter base and raise handle to vertical position. The samples will be automatically ejected by the ejection disk. Remove the samples by sliding cutting pad and samples from cutter base.

Note: Cutting pads may be reused (as long as the blade has not cut completely through the pad) by repositioning them on cutter base or by turning them over to the opposite side.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Periodically apply a light coat of grease between the cutter handle and the top side of the plunger.

NEVER attach a leverage bar to the handle or hit the handle with a mallet.

REPLACING THE CUTTER BLADE

1. Remove the cutting pad from the cutter base.
2. Lower the handle to its horizontal position.
3. Remove the ejection disk and set it aside. (Note: Simply lift ejection disk up and out of blade.
4. Remove the socket head cap screw in the blade clip and remove the blade clip.
5. Raise the handle to its vertical position.
6. Hold a cutting pad under the blade to avoid injury. Unscrew and remove the cutter blade from the plunger shaft.
7. With the handle in the vertical position, place the new cutter blade on a cutting pad and thread the blade onto the plunger shaft. Screw the blade onto the plunger shaft as far as it will go.
8. Place the handle in a horizontal position and turn the blade counter-clockwise until the blade is approximately 1/32" above cutter base. (Note: No cutting pad in place)
9. Place the blade clip into the groove on the plunger shaft and rotate the cutter blade to the nearest hole for the blade clip to fall into. Replace the socket head cap screw in blade clip. (Note: Do not over tighten screw)
10. Raise the handle to the vertical position and place a new cutting pad on the cutter base.
11. Push the handle to the full horizontal position. Raise the handle and remove the cutting pad. Check the depth of cut by bending each corner of the cutting pad down 90 degrees.
12. The cutter blade is properly adjusted when depth of cut is 30-50 percent of cutting pad thickness. Repeat steps 8, 9, 10, and 11 until depth of cut is properly adjusted.
13. When step 12 is complete, place handle in horizontal position and replace ejection disk.
14. NOTE: Blade should never cut completely through cutting pad.
