KEEP HANDS CLEAR OF CUTTING DIE AT ALL TIMES!!
- Connect air supply to filter/lubricator (cylinder rod will return to retracted position) and set regulator pressure to 100 P.S.I.
- Set flow control valve connected to rod end of cylinder, so that entire white ring (#3) is showing in flow control knob and lock knob in place. (PRE-SET at factory)
- Place cardboard cutting pad in cutting pad locating slot under cutting die.
- Place fabric, usually 8 layers (3 folds); over cutting ad making sure fabric is free of wrinkles and remove both hands.
- Activate press with both hands by simultaneously pressing the activation buttons on each end of the control unit. Press will not operate if buttons are not pressed simultaneously. Continue pressing control buttons after cutting die has contacted fabric to ensure that all fabric layers are cut. When either or both buttons are released, the cylinder rod will return to its retraced position.
- To avoid personal injury, never attempt to cut samples with this machine by more than one person at a time.
- To avoid personal injury, only place cutting pads and fabric samples under cutting die after air supply has been connected to filter/regulator/lubricator and pressure has been set to 100 P.S.I.
- To avoid personal injury and/or damage to cutting die, never attempt to cut anything other than fabric samples.
- A cardboard cutting pad should be in place at all times to protect cutting die. Cylinder will slowly travel to its lowered position when the air supply is cut off.
- If cutter should fail to properly cut fabric samples; check air supply pressure, flow control setting and condition of die.
- Follow these steps to replace cutting die.
- Disconnect air supply to cutter.
- Remove ejector ring from cutting die.
- Loosen jam nut on top of cutting die.
- Hold cardboard cutting pad under die and slowly turn die clockwise until it is free of cylinder rod.
- Hold cutting pad under new die and slowly turn die counter-clockwise on cylinder rod. Continue turning die and jam nut until both are at the top of threaded portion of cylinder rod.
- Reconnect air supply to cutter.
- Remove cutting pad from bottom plate.
- Be sure hands are clear of cutting die and have a second person activate the press so the cutting die remains at the bottom of its stroke. Very carefully, turn the cutting die clockwise until it is 1/32" above the bottom plate and tighten jam nut on top of cutting die.
- Release control buttons and place ejector ring in new cutting die.
